Center Spot: The spot in the center of the pitch where play is initiated at the beginning of each half, and/or after each goal.

Penalty Area: The area in front of the goals 44 yards in width and 18 yards in length. In this area if a foul occurs the referee awards a penalty shot, and possibly a card for the infraction. It is also in this area the Goalkeeper is allowed to used his hands when playing the ball.

Penalty Mark: The 12 yards from the End Line directly in front of the center of the goal where penalty shots are taken.

Penalty Arc: This area is 10 yards from the Penalty Mark in an arc on the outside of the Penalty Area.

Goalie Box: The area 6 yards from the end line and 20 yards in width directly in front of the goal. Typically in this area referees tend to make calls to protect the goalkeeper from injury.
