Our Beginnings

Many thanks to Steven for establishing this blog.  We will use this site as our communication tool for all of us ExPats who wish to share info and/or learn about futball’s rules & regulations as well as interesting topics regarding the Best Team In Ecuadorian Series A Futball—DEPORTIVA CUENCA.  I have had quite a few responses following the GringoTree posting and we already have a pool of very talented personnel interested in getting our fan club off to a healthy beginning.  From newbies to the sport, to players and coaches of futball, to freelance writers about sporting events and just plain interested spectators, such as me.  Each of us has a gift to bring to our hometown team, be it a good sign maker, a good yelling voice, knowledge of the rules and/or communicating with the team and its officers.  We have a connection into the team’s front office so we will have current game schedules and times posted very soon.  Please use this site to seek out info and share what you know.  Tell your friends about our beginning fan club efforts, the fun of attending a match and gaining an understanding of the passion that every fan has for his/her Futball Club.  Our next homegame is scheduled for June 16^th.  I and other gringos enjoy sitting in the Palco section which is covered seating.  I currently hold seat #954 and find the view of the field quite good from that location.  See you then!  Go Cuenca!!!!
